New Zealand troops in Torquay, World War 1

placeholder gif[New Zealand troops line the upper deck of a tram]

Large numbers of wounded New Zealand troops came to Torquay to convalesce during 1917 and 1918, and were based in a special camp in St Marychurch. Although the date of this photo is uncertain, it may well have been in November 1918 during the celebrations following the end of the war.
