Torbay Council

Torbay Council is the locally elected body which serves the 3 towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. In 1998 the council became a unitary authority and is responsible for a majority of the local services.

ImageLife

ImageLife is the main contractor responsible for digitising the assets of the local libraries, museums and contributors. ImageLife will also produce virtual tours and virtual objects.

ImageLife is a young, energetic, privately funded firm, which has been awarded DTI and business start-up grants. Though relatively young the company is creating an impressive portfolio having digitised the 14th Century Auchinleck Manuscript, the 12th Century Waltham Abbey Bible and a wide variety of valuable books, letters, paintings and objects. The aim of the business is to become a Centre of Excellence for specialist digital capture.

ImageLife is an institutional affiliate of the Society of Archivists and has close contacts with the University of Plymouth, working with them on current and future projects.

limbomedia

limbomedia is the contractor responsible for the project's games.

limbomedia: a collective of arts and technology practitioners working collaboratively with artists, individuals and businesses to promote constructive uses of digital media.

Founded in 1999, limbomedia is a digital arts and new media company based in Plymouth. Operating as a collective of six arts practitioners, they currently hold a fulltime teaching post on the MediaLab Arts BSc (Hons) course at the University of Plymouth. They have quickly developed a history of industrial projects, art work and academic research and have become involved in many of the Science, Technology and Arts Research (STAR) group's research activities. Founding members of limbomedia are Adam Child, Scott Fletcher, George Grinsted, Dan Harris, Will Harvey and Drew Melmoth.

Shane Edgar

Shane is the project's co-ordinator

Shane is also an artist working with both traditional and digital photography and computers. In addition he works as a photographer, graphic and web designer for both commerce and the arts. He also teaches traditional and digital photography and web design.
